Tayside Police, who are responsible for the enforcement of the law in this area of Scotland, work closely with Angus Council, the Health Service and Tayside Fire & Rescue in order to make our area as safe as possible for both residents and visitors.

The Migrant Worker Initiative is a multi-agency group formed in 2005 to look at the provision of information to the many thousands of migrant workers visiting Angus each year.

The first piece of work they initiated was to provide a booklet which would contain advice from a range of agencies and services specifically designed to assist migrant workers.

As well as being available in English, the booklet has also been translated into Russian, Polish, Czech and Bulgarian. It is free and copies can be found at police stations, libraries, hospitals, surgeries, etc. The booklet contains sections on employment and finance, emergency services, housing, health, education and training, local services, community, transport and victim support.

The booklet is also available in a number of languages as a PDF download from the Angus Ahead website by clicking here.

The Migrant Worker Initiative is led by the Angus Association of Voluntary Organisations and is supported by Tayside Police, Tayside Fire and Rescue, Angus Council, NHS Tayside, Angus College and Volunteer Centre, Angus.
