Baby Girl Taken to Ninewells Hospital

A 1-year-old baby girl was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee this afternoon after being struck on the head by a kitchen utensil that had accidentally fallen from a third floor window of premises occupied by Boots the Chemist.

The incident happened at around 11.50pm in Dundee’s High Street.

The child underwent a CT scan and was found to have sustained a fractured skull.  She has since been detained within the high dependency ward at Ninewells Hospital and is expected to undergo surgery.

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
