Detective Chief Inspector Graham Macmillan31-03-2008

Tayside Police is pleased to announce the promotion of Detective Inspector Graham Macmillan to the rank of Detective Chief Inspector.

 

Graham, a former pupil at Lawside Academy in Dundee, worked with the Royal Bank of Scotland before joining Tayside Police in 1982. 

 

He carried out beat duties in the Maryfield and Stobswell areas of the city before joining Central Division CID in 1987.  In 1989 he joined the Force Drugs Squad before returning to Central Division CID once again in 1994.  Graham was then seconded to work on a special IT project during which time he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  In 1996 Graham took up a uniform post in the Lochee area of Dundee but only a year later he returned back to Central Division CID as a Detective Sergeant.  In 1999 Graham joined Headquarters Crime Management and in 2002 was promoted to the rank of Detective Inspector.

 

On promotion to the rank of Detective Chief Inspector, Graham is moving to head up the CID in Angus and will be based at Divisional Police Headquarters in Forfar.

 

DCI Macmillan is married and lives in Dundee.  In his spare time he enjoys football, golf, and learning foreign languages.
