Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Angela Wilson Ms Angela Wilson was appointed Temporary Assistant Chief Constable in August 2009, following a secondment to HMICS.

Angela joined Thames Valley Police in 1984 where she served in various posts including CID, Operational Support, Specialist Operations and general policing. She became the first female Detective Inspector in Thames Valley upon her posting in 1995 to Slough. Postings followed to DCI and then Superintendent in 2000.

Angela transferred to Tayside Police in 2002 and was posted to Head of Corporate Development. In February 2004 she took up the role of Deputy Divisional Commander Eastern Division.

In February 2006, Angela moved to Headquarters Crime Management as Detective Superintendent Operations and Intelligence, where she had responsibility for drugs and surveillance branch, intelligence bureau and Special Branch. She progressed to Detective Chief Superintendent, Head of CID, later that year.

Angela was Founding Chair of the Womens Development Forum, a group that works under ACPOS direction to implement the Gender Agenda. In particular, the WDF work to provide development opportunities, support and networking for women in the service.

Angela is on the ACPOS business areas for Road Policing, Operational Policing, Crime and Criminal Justice.
