Policing in Dundee

Chief Superintendent Hamish Macpherson is the senior officer in charge of the Community Policing Division.

Superintendent Athol Aitken is the officer in charge of operational uniform policing in Dundee. He is assisted by Chief Inspector Suzanne Mertes (Sections 1 and 2) and Chief Inspector Shaun McKillop (Sections 3 and 4) who have responsibility for all operational policing and support matters in their respective sections. They are based at Police Headquarters, West Bell Street, Dundee.

For policing purposes, Dundee is divided into four separate sections :

• Section 1 : City Centre/Maryfield/East End
  covering the city centre, Maryfield and Stobswell
• Section 2 : Lochee/West End
  covering Lochee, Charleston, Menzieshill and the Perth Road
• Section 3 : Strathmartine/Coldside
  covering Downfield, Ardler, Hilltown, St. Marys, Kirkton and Fairmuir
• Section 4 : North East/Broughty Ferry
  covering Fintry, Whitfield, Douglas, West Ferry, Broughty Ferry and Barnhill
