Policing in Dundee
Police Headquarters in West Bell Street, Dundee is the base for the Central Division command team.
The Divisional Commander is Chief Superintendent Gavin Robertson.
He is assisted by Superintendent Athol Aitken. Chief Inspector Suzanne Mertes (Sections 1 and 2) and Chief Inspector Shaun McKillop (Sections 3 and 4) have responsibility for all operational policing and support matters in within the Division.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is also based at Force Headquarters and is led by Detective Chief Inspector Greig Steele. The Divisional Road Policing Unit (RPU) is led by Inspector Gordon Taylor and is based at the Force's Baluniefield facility.
For policing purposes, Dundee is divided into four separate sections :
- Section 1 : City Centre/Maryfield/East End
covering the city centre, Maryfield and Stobswell - Section 2 : Lochee/West End
covering Lochee, Charleston, Menzieshill and the Perth Road - Section 3 : Strathmartine/Coldside
covering Downfield, Ardler, Hilltown, St. Marys, Kirkton and Fairmuir - Section 4 : North East/Broughty Ferry
covering Fintry, Whitfield, Douglas, West Ferry, Broughty Ferry and Barnhill
