Tayside Police is holding a cycle passport session between 10am and 12pm on Saturday, January 28 at the Youth Area, Kirkton Community Centre, Derwent Avenue, Dundee.
Last year hundreds of bikes were stolen in Dundee, ranging in value from a few pounds to over £1000.
Tayside Police is hoping to ensure that bikes given as Christmas presents are kept safe and secure over the coming year by offering members of the public the chance to have them security marked.
Bring your bike along and it will photographed and security marked and you will be issued with a ‘cycle passport’ which can be produced to the police if the bicycle is ever stolen. This form of crime prevention is vital to assist the police. This will be done free of charge courtesy of the Kirkton Tackle Crime Group.
Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222, or any police officer. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
