Ready Tayside
Severe weather related emergencies, such as storms and flooding, the consequences of a pandemic flu outbreak, infrastructure and utility services failure and the impact of terrorism are highlighted as some of the more significant risks which potentially threaten individuals, communities and businesses.
Working in close co-operation with the Scottish Government Resilience Division, Tayside Strategic Co-ordinating Group (SCG) is one of eight multi-agency groups, based on police force areas, responsible for ensuring effective planning for, response to and recovery from major incidents and emergencies. Each organisation within Tayside SCG also has a responsibility to warn and inform members of the public of potential risks and how they can be better prepared in the event of a major emergency.
