Security Marking

Please consider the following advice regarding security marking your property and valuables :

• There are a number of different ways in which property can be marked. These include using an Ultra Violet pen, etching, engraving labels, stickers, bar codes, and chemical trace, tracking devices or micro-marking.

• Property should be marked clearly. When using UV pens mark the item with your postcode and the first two letters of the businesses name or house number.

• When using labels position them in a prominent position on the item.

• Check all the security marking on property every 12 months to ensure everything is up to date.

• More valuable items or items which cannot be marked by conventional means should be photographed.
