Robbery, West Mains Avenue, Perth

Police in Perth are renewing their appeal for witnesses to come forward as they continue with enquiries into the robbery at the Co-op at West Mains Avenue on Sunday January 22.

The incident happened at about 9.15pm when a man went into the store and threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash.

Officers are urging members of the public who may have been in the area at the time, including dog walkers and taxi drivers, to contact police with any information they have which could assist with enquiries.

It is believed that the suspect had been in the area outside the store for up to 30 minutes before the incident. After robbing the store, he was seen running off towards the Burghmuir Road and Newhouse Road area.

The suspect is described as being in his 20s, about six feet tall, with a slim build. At the time he had his face covered with a black scarf. He wore a white hooded top sporting thin blue stripes with a pale blue T shirt over the top. He also wore black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the legs and black trainers.

Anyone who was in the area and saw the suspect or who has information that can assist the police should call 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.
