Police in Forfar are urging parents to make it their business to find out what there children are up to of an evening, following a number of reports about anti-social behaviour in the town.

In the last couple of weeks Tayside Police has received call from residents – the vulnerable and elderly among them – who have been left concerned and in some cases frightened by the behaviour of youths across the town centre and into neighbouring streets.

Inspector Ally Robertson said:

"In some cases eggs have been thrown at houses, but in general terms people have been left upset by vandalism and anti-social behaviour and we won’t stand for it.

"We will be increasing patrols into the town and we will take action against anyone who we find involved in anti-social behaviour.

"I would prefer for parents to heed the message that this type of behaviour is unacceptable and pass it on to their children. Be nosey about what your kids are up to – where are they going, who they are with, what are they doing. You can be assured that they will be in our company if their behaviour leaves vulnerable residents frightened or upset. Parents will have to make that trip to the police station to collect them if those are the measures we have to take."

At the same time Tayside Police would ask residents not to suffer in silence. Anyone with concerns or wishing to report an incident should call us on 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer. In an emergency call 999.

Police in Perth have reported two 11-year-old boys to the Youth Justice Assessor for further consideration following an incident in Bute Drive shortly after 4pm yesterday (Thurs Feb 16) which resulted in a bus window being smashed. No one was injured.

Officers in Arbroath are appealing for information after 35-year-old woman was indecently assaulted by a man in the High Street on Monday (Feb 13).

He is described as being 17 to 20-years-old, slim, five feet five inches tall, with brown hair and a spot on his lip. He spoke with a Scottish accent and at the time was wearing a dark blue jacket with a white stripe down the back, blue jeans and white trainers.
