Independent Oversight - Complaint Handling Review

If the person who lodged a complaint is not satisfied as to the outcome of the investigation undertaken by the police into their complaint they may refer the matter to the Police Complaints Commissioner for Scotland (PCCS) and request that they conduct a Complaint Handling Review of the manner in which the complaint was dealt with by the Force.

The PCCS cannot undertake a Complaint Handling Review of complaints where criminal conduct has been alleged or where the Force has not concluded their enquiries into the complaint.
